Compression: Start Gentle, Build Up
Compression is one of the most effective tools for lipedema and lymphatic swelling — but going too strong too fast causes discomfort and you'll quit.
- Start with a lighter class (15–20 mmHg) for daytime wear.
- Put them on first thing in the morning, before swelling sets in.
- Build up over 2–4 weeks before moving to a firmer class.
- Get professionally measured — ill-fitting compression can restrict flow.
- Listen to your body — numbness, tingling, or new pain means stop and reassess.
Not medical advice. Compression should be fitted with guidance from a lymphedema or lipedema specialist.
